I first heard the word gringo in high school Spanish class. Years later after some unwise deals and being personally immersed in the housing crash for two years, it just popped out. "When it comes to real estate we are a couple of gringos." The root of this word is believed to come from the Spanish word "griego", which is Spanish for Greek. In Spanish when something is referred to as "Greek" it implies foreign or unintelligible, just as in English we say, "It's Greek to me."

Although the word has a Spanish origin, the label "gringo" has no ethnic connotation. It implies the person is a newcomer or a foreigner. After making a series of real estate deals that got us locked into the housing crash we playfully used to word on ourselves. Saying, "When it came to making money and wise decisions in real estate we proved ourselves easily identifiable as gringos." The word gringo denoted a person new to the culture and norms of the area. We thought we were making savvy real estate decisions, but after the crash we had to admit we were "Gringos In Real Estate".

We are all gringos in one area or another. We chose to acknowledge it, roll-up our sleeves and change it. This website plans to help anyone with real estate concerns, gringos and pros alike. Our goal is to see everyone move forward.
